General Information

Hailing from God’s own Country Kerala, Sreesh started off as a sprinter and as a volleyball player before pursuing hockey at the age of 12.

Sreejesh made his junior India team debut in 2004 and was promoted to the senior team in 2 years.

From 2011 Sreejesh has been an integral member of the squad and won the “Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament” award in the 2013 Asia Cup.

He was again adjudged the ‘Goalkeeper of the Tournament’ after he saved two penalties against Pakistan to guide India to gold. The 29 year-old has been handed over India’s captaincy in 2016 and led the team to a silver medal in Hero ChampionsTrophy.

Sreejesh also captained the side to a quarter-final finish in the 2016 Olympics. Sreejesh was bought by the UP Wizards in for USD 69,000 from Mumbai Magicians.
